BrauBeviale 2024 - Positive signals from the market
03 December 2024
- Closing balance confirms the role of BrauBeviale as an European meeting point for the beverage sector
- Positive signals from the industry indicating an upstick in investment activities
Following the conclusion of BrauBeviale 2024 in Nuremberg today, Thursday, 28 November 2024, it is once again clear that the brewing and beverage industry continues to prioritise communication and information exchange. With 30,821 visitors and a share of around 84 per cent from Germany and European Union, BrauBeviale confirms its position as the leading European meeting point for the industry.
Featuring 858 exhibitors across the net exhibition area of 35,403 m², BrauBeviale 2024 once again met the expectations of visitors. In addition to extensive exhibition areas, BrauBeviale 2024 offered special areas for enriching lecture programmes. The focus on topics dedicated to raw materials & marketing, technology & packaging was central to the discussions, providing visitors with invaluable insights into current trends and developments.
Trade fairs provide impetus for investment
In 2024, around 10% of the exhibitors were new or returning exhibitors, underscoring the brewing and beverage sector's appeal to a wide range of suppliers. "Exhibitors are clearly more strategic in selecting their stand sizes, which is reflected in a 9% decrease in the total space sold at this year's event," explained Rolf Keller, Managing Director of trade fair organiser YONTEX. "However, this should not be interpreted as a sign of pessimism in the industry. On the contrary, many exhibitors, including market leaders, have indicated that investment activity is on the rise. Preliminary analysis of the visitor profile shows a significant increase in the proportion of decision-makers attending."
Visitors also recognise the vital role of the trade fair in providing a comprehensive overview of the latest industry developments. “According to the impressions of visitors, the overall breadth of BrauBeviale has become the key factor in attracting visitors. It is no longer enough for the industry professionals to simply visit individual exhibition stands. The overarching view is also important,” emphasises Andrea Kalrait, Executive Director BrauBeviale.
The next date has already been set
After the trade fair is before the trade fair: Planning for the future is alreay underway, with the next BrauBeviale scheduled to take place in Nuremberg from 10 to 12 November 2026. The organisers have responded to industry feedback by scheduling the event in the long-established mid-November timeframe, as the trade fair will not be held in the year of drinktec.
Exhibitor testimonials
Our company is taking away clear indicators of a new beginning from BrauBeviale 2024: The topics surrounding reusable cycles and sustainability are becoming increasingly important to beverage industry customers, and we engaged in numerous valuable discussions focused on these topics.
Guido Klinkhammer, Managing Director, Schäfer Werke GmbH
We are going home from this trade fair full of enthusiasm. Specific projects were discussed, and we were able to engage in coversations with numerous decision-makers from leading global solution providers. BrauBeviale's focus on the European market is a positive aspect that enabled our trade fair team to focus well.
Dr. Roland Folz, Group President Industrial Solutions, Pentair
Our company experienced a positive atmosphere at the event. In view of the current market restraint in the brewery industry, it is also clear that the handbrake is being released somewhat with regards to investments by customers.
Klaus Gehrig, Managing Director, Ziemann Holvrieka GmbH
We have received a great deal of positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. The supporting programme addressed crucial topics such as the dealcoholisation of beer and energy efficiency. From our perspective, the European Beer Star event also played a significant role in raising BrauBeviale's international profile.
Stefan Stang, Managing Director, Private Brauereien Bayern e.V.
