Impact of climate change on the fruit juice industry

It is no longer possible for fruit growers – and therefore the fruit juice industry – to ignore climate change. All over the world, fruit growers are facing new climate-related challenges. Weather extremes such as droughts, floods and excessive heat are becoming more severe and more frequent. As a result, researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine warn that "rising sea levels and more frequent storm surges alone could reduce fruit yields by around 21% to 28% if nothing is done to counteract the damaging effects of climate change."
